SWIFT LINK Viewer — A real-time 3D robotics visualizer built from the ground up in Unity — every facility mapped and rendered live, with remote control of every robot.

Overview

Swift Link is a robotics simulation software I built from the ground up using Unity 3D. Alongside a team of robotics engineers, we coordinated on the development of an industry-leading 3D viewer — one that could show the location of every robot in real time. It was revolutionary to have each facility mapped and rendered in 3D.

The goal of the project was to give the end user complete control of the systems remotely, with accurate and responsive control.

My Role

I was brought on as the real-time expert of the team. My job was to explore the viability of their vision using Unity — and it was clear right away we'd made the right choice. My days involved designing, prototyping, and building the entire visualizer, and for the majority of the project I was a one-man team.

My role spanned 3D modeling, texturing, model conversion, UI/UX design, UI/UX art asset creation, UI/UX engine integration, C# networking, database integration, and more. It was an exciting opportunity to flex so many muscles and grow as a developer.
