Jido: ButterBuy — A contactless way to shop local — search for a product, find a store nearby that has it, then scan and check out right in the aisle.

Overview

ButterBuy is an e-commerce platform I helped build for Jido, centered on finding things locally in your store. Instead of ordering online and waiting, shoppers can search for a product and see which nearby stores have it in stock on a map.

The full product flow: search for a product, find it nearby, walk into the store, scan the barcode with the app, check out on your phone, and leave — no register, no line.

It was created during COVID, aiming to solve contactless payment while supporting local stores by listing them and letting people shop from them directly.

I was the primary frontend developer on the project, building a React Native website and mobile application in TypeScript.

Butter Bot

Butter Bot is an automated help chatbot I created from the ground up, with design help from Ke Ding. It gives shoppers in-app guidance and answers on demand as they move through the experience.
