Overview
Living River (AKOI) is a game about repairing desolate ecosystems, built for the 2020 Global Game Jam. You explore the wilderness and create life where none was found, coaxing color and growth back into a barren world.
It plays with full Xbox controller support and no on-screen text — the whole experience is meant to be understood without a single word.
My Role
Built over the jam weekend at the Pittsburgh GGJ (at Tepper), I was the engineer on a six-person team, building the game in Unity. We took on the 'Language-Independence' diversifier sponsored by Valve, which shaped that wordless, purely visual design.
On iOS
After the jam, I converted Living River into a native iOS app — reworking the controls for touch, adapting the UI for phones and tablets, and tuning performance for mobile hardware. The full experience now runs on iPhone and iPad, and it's free on the App Store.
